I began running as a school cross-country athlete, qualifying for the All English Schools Championships, and continued into adulthood simply for fitness.

I ran intuitively—without plans, races, or structure—using running as a way to stay fit and explore wherever I lived.

In my early forties, everything changed. Joining Harrogate Harriers in 2022 introduced me to competitive racing and, unexpectedly, the 2023 London Marathon.

With less than five months to prepare, I set an ambitious goal: sub-three hours.

As a working mum of two with a demanding schedule, I followed a generic programme, misunderstood key training principles, and paid the price with a hamstring injury two weeks before race day.

I finished in 3:12, earning entry to the 2024 London Marathon—but knowing I was capable of more.

Over the next year, I did things differently. Performance alone wasn’t enough. I wanted to understand how to run faster, for longer, & remain injury-free!

While online training plans were easy to access, none were truly personalised or helped prevent injury—something I knew could be done better.

That pursuit—combining experience, education, and precision—became the foundation of my coaching philosophy.

THIS IS WHERE "BEYOND THE ORDINARY BEGINS"

I studied the science, learned from elite athletes and worked closely with physiotherapists and other professionals to prioritise injury prevention, and built a training system tailored to my body, my life, and my goals.

The result was 2:59—sub-three achieved—and Good For Age qualification for Boston 2025.

Driven by a desire to deepen my knowledge further, I spent the year leading into Boston refining and fine-tuning my own training programme. I studied extensively and gained a coaching qualification. The result was a programme that kept me strong, healthy, and confident all the way to race day

Boston Delivered a 2:55 Marathon Time

That performance, alongside consistent improvements across other distances, opened doors to opportunities I once thought impossible:

✔️ England Masters selection

✔️ Elite Competition

✔️ Age Group World Championships

Six months after Boston at the New-York Marathon,

I ran 2:52, earning a BRONZE MEDAL in the 45–50 age category

THIS IS WHY I HAVE NOW DEDICATED MY TIME IN DEVELOPING MY OWN PROVEN AND EFFECTIVE COACHING METHOD
